Benefits of using Hyaluronic Acid after Electrolysis

As we’ve talked about in past blogs, there are many benefits to electrolysis applied to almost any body area including the face, legs, eyebrows, abdomen, chest and back. In addition to the permanent hair removal, our clients also experience clearer skin, a better overall appearance and greater self-esteem.  Over the past few years the public has been hearing more about the benefits of hyaluronic acid after undergoing the permanent hair removal process, and would like to explain that here.

Some individuals, after an electrolysis treatment can experience some inflammation. At Theresa’s Face and Body Cape Coral spa we recommend applying hyaluronic acid to the skin immediately after treatment.  Hyaluronic acid plays an integral role in wound healing as it bring down inflammation, reduces skin discomfort and speed up the skins healing process. It is also anti-microbial so it reduces the risk of infection after electrolysis or other anti- aging medical spa procedures. In addition to reducing skin irritation, it’s very soothing and cooling. This serum also doesn’t contain any oils that can tend to plug up pores.

A Natural Moisturizer

Hyaluronic acid is basically a natural moisturizer that includes natural components to help the process of healing the skin. In fact, this substance is naturally produced by the human body, with its main function being to aid the body in retaining water, as well as keep tissues well-lubricated.

There are various serums and creams in the marketplace that contain hyaluronic acid, which can be applied in the morning, and in the evening to increase healing after electrolysis– especially within the first 24 hour of treatment. Additional steps you can take to speed  the healing of your skin after permanent hair removal include cleansing your face with alcohol, not touching the treated area with your fingers, not wearing makeup for 24 hours after treatment, using a sunscreen daily with a SPF of 50 or above and refraining from using soap 24 hours after treatment.
