Hair Removal From Chin
Ever notice how a beautiful, smooth, chin can make a face radiate with beauty? However, many people have an issue with superfluous hair on their chin making them feel self-conscious.This condition can occur due to an individual’s heredity and can also drive by hormone imbalances and is oftentimes very thick and obvious. This type of excessive hair growth is classified as terminal hair and you need to keep on top of it with electrolysis to remove it. In the beginnings of permanent hair removal treatments, it can take between 45 minutes to 90 minutes per session depending on the amount of hair on the front and sides of the chin. The key with chin hair is to destroy it in its beginning stages of growth called the anagen stage so it becomes sparse and then diminishes. During electrolysis, a small amount of current is introduced into an individual follicle to cauterize the blood supply, the hair root and tissue sheath. The hair is then removed with tweezers. Typically, terminal hair can grow as deep as a quarter of an inch into the skin.

Maintenance is Key
With proper maintenance, and the client keeping on top of their permanent hair removal treatments, it is much easier to keep the skin free of unwanted hair. Clients can be made comfortable during electrolysis through the application of a topical numbing cream which they purchase and can apply at home. Used an hour prior to treatment, the numbing cream, such as lidocaine or BLT cream makes the procedure go smoothly and comfortably. Advice on which numbing cream to use, how to apply it and where to get it is provided during a consultation before a scheduled appointment.
After Chin Treatment
After treatment, it also is recommended that ice be applied to any inflamed areas twice a day for the next three to four days along with using triple antibiotic ointment or cortisone cream to speed up the skin-healing process.
